Differences between Kingsoft Office and MS Office - for Word processing software

There are some differences between Kingsoft Writer and Microsoft Word. This article introduces those different functions and comparing the key features.

File Encryption

For Kingsoft Writer: Click on "File-File Encryption’, you can set the file open password.

For Microsoft Word: Click on the "Tools-Options - Security" to set the password.

Print sequence setting

For Kingsoft Writer: Print setting contains "Print sequence setting "option, you can adjust the order of the number of the file.

For Microsoft Word: None

Open hyperlink

For Kingsoft Writer: Press ctrl key and then click on the hyperlink to open the link address. This is the only open way.

For Microsoft Word:
1. Press ctrl and click on the hyperlink to open.
2. In the "Tools - Options - Edit", choose ctrl + click tracking hyperlinks "option as not checked, you can directly click the hyperlink to open the address.

Undo

For Kingsoft Writer: Click to the undo key, you can directly undo to the initial state.

For Microsoft Word: Undo step by step based on previous operation.

Document Map

For Kingsoft Writer: The Document Map can select the location of its display.

For Microsoft Word: The Document Map is displayed only in the left side of the page.

Document switching mode

For Kingsoft Writer: Switch by multiple tabbed mode

For Microsoft Word: Switch by task bar mode

Document background

For Kingsoft Writer:  In "View-Background”, it can only change the color of the visual background for the document, and cannot add the background for the document.
You should click “view-header and footer”, and then insert a picture in the header, and next set picture layout to "Sent Behind Text" to add the background for the document.

For Microsoft Word: Click on “Format-Background”, you can set the background for the document. If you want to print the document without background, you can click the "Tools-Options -Print background color and images" not checked.

Watermark

For Kingsoft Writer: Click on the view-headers and footers, WordArt can be inserted in the header, its layout is set to "Sent Behind Text”, and then drag to the desired location.

For Microsoft Word: Click on the Format-Background-Watermark, you can add.

Word Count

 For Kingsoft Writer: Click on "Tools-Word Count”, you can statistics the number of words in the current document.

For Microsoft Word:  Click on "Tools-Word Count" in the dialog box, and then choose the "Show Toolbar" check box, the number of words in the document can be displayed below the interface.

Table

For Kingsoft Writer: Draw table by the multiple rows and multiple columns.

For Microsoft Word: Draw table by the single rows and single columns.

Insert

For Kingsoft Writer: Text box can be allowed the rotation of the text with an object.

For Microsoft Word: Text box cannot be allowed the rotation of the text with an object.

Paragraph layout

For Kingsoft Writer: Click on the icon in front of the paragraph, you can view the Paragraph Layout tab and directly adjust the paragraph.

For Microsoft Word: None

Section tab

For Kingsoft Writer: Click the "Section” tab, the section navigation task pane will pop-up.

For Microsoft Word: None

Cover page

For Kingsoft Writer: Section-the cover page, insert a cover page, you can select "Remove the cover page”.

For Microsoft Word 2007: None

For Microsoft Word 2010: Insert-Cover Page "contains “Remove the cover page" and “go to official website more cover”, “the option save to the cover list”.

Table style

For Kingsoft Writer: After inserting Table, the "table style" tab will pop-up.

For Microsoft Word 2007: None

For Microsoft Word 2010: After inserting Table, the "table style" tab will pop-up.
